2017 NAMI Conference Speaker Submission Form

Due by: June 5, 2017

Notification of Acceptance: July 17, 2017

NAMI North Carolina 2017 Statewide Conference, will be held on October 13 at the Durham Convention Center in Durham, North Carolina. At this year’s Conference, we want to explore the theme of “The Challenge of Change: Moving Forward in Mental Health.” We are looking for workshop proposals, speakers and experiences for attendees to come to a deeper understanding of how we respond to change and our successes in driving change on personal and community levels.

NAMI helps individuals change their lives through knowledge, inspiration, and support. When we understand the degree to which we can affect change, or not, we can make decisions in our best interests and the interests of those living with mental illness. NAMI’s programs promote strength in recovery and resiliency in the face of unexpected change.

Workshop Specifics
Each workshop will be 90 minutes and may have up to a maximum of 3 presenters. We invite you to propose workshops that are interactive, inspiring, and informative; workshops which will actively engage participants and send attendees away with lessons learned and even action they can take. We encourage workshop proposals from all sectors of the Mental Health Community: PEERS, Family Members and Caregivers, Mental Health Providers, Researchers and Specialists from across the state and the nation. Submit a workshop proposal online.

Speaker Compensation
We do not pay breakout session speakers to present at or travel to our conference. Occasionally we find a reason to break this tradition, but this should not be anticipated.

However, we do greatly value your time, and our confirmed speakers can attend the conference as our guest and can enjoy the amenities during our conference.

Please Note:
Although we do realize that many speakers find business opportunities through speaking and we are happy to support your business endeavors on this occasion, however, we do have a strict no solicitation policy for our presentations. You may, however, show your logo and website on slides, discuss your business results in professional case study format and provide handouts relevant to your presentation with your business contact information.
