Our Mission & Vision
Our Mission
The mission of NAMI North Carolina is to provide support, education, advocacy, and public awareness so that all affected by mental illness can build better lives.
Our Vision
NAMI North Carolina envisions a world where all people affected by mental illness live healthy, fulfilling lives supported by a community that cares.
Our Approach
Advocate at the county, state and national levels for non-discriminatory access to quality healthcare, housing, education and employment for people with mental illness. Educate the public about mental illness. Work to eliminate the stigma of mental illness. Advocate for increased funding for research into the causes and treatment of mental illness.
Non-Discrimination Statement
Through education, awareness, advocacy, and support, NAMI North Carolina represents the interests of all North Carolinians who are affected by mental health conditions, regardless of age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, disability, language, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
Strategic Plan
The NAMI North Carolina Board of Directors formed a committee to develop an updated four-year strategic plan for our organization in 2019. The committee was charged with creating a document that would leverage the strategies and focus areas of the NAMI national organization, while providing a bold and achievable plan for serving our unique community in North Carolina. A summary of the plan can be found here.
